Kelp Removal Experiments
Seasonal kelp removals have been undertaken at Waihau Bay since Summer 2009.
Seasonal (Summer. Spring and Autumn) kelp removals (200m2) have been undertaken at Waihau Bay since Summer 2009. Data collected allows us to evaluate the magnitude and direction of effects relating to Ecklonia Radiata recovery and associated benthic species and communities.
It is anticipated that data collated as part of the study will underpin a sustainable harvesting strategy for Ecklonia Radiata.
