Detailed Coastal Development in Vunabaka Bay
eCoast Marine Consulting and Research was commissioned by Vunabaka Bay Fiji Ltd to detail the design and engineering aspects of a large coastal development.
eCoast Marine Consulting and Research was commissioned by Vunabaka Bay Fiji Ltd to detail the design and engineering aspects of a large coastal development. A site visit, including the deployment of a wave/current meter, was undertaken to collect site-specific data. This was combined with existing data and information, as well as numerical modelling, in order to address the issues of reclamation/beach design/stability assessment/detailed design, revetment and marina wall detail, wave penetration into the marina under annual and extreme wave scenarios, rock size selection for reclamation/marina walls and groynes, reclamation, FFL and associated datum requirements to determine Cut/Fill volumes, and the development of a monitoring plan.
