Dr Shaw Mead Presents at Stakeholder Engagement Meeting in Hopes of Improving Nadi's Water
eCoast’s Managing Director, Dr Shaw Mead, presented at last month’s stakeholder consultation on wastewater master plans for Fiji’s Western Division.
eCoast’s Managing Director, Dr Shaw Mead, presented at last month’s stakeholder consultation on wastewater master plans for Fiji’s Western Division held at Tokatoka Resort in Nadi, Fiji. The project is set to upgrade wastewater infrastructure over the next 20 years with the aim to improve public health and the water environment.
The Water Authority Fiji (WAF) is leading the project along with the help of relevant stakeholders to formulate a Regional Wastewater Master Plan and a Municipal Sewerage Master Plan. They plan to have one-to-one stakeholder meetings to gain further insight into their future improvement plans to ensure the outcomes can meet anticipated needs.
Currently, the project is phase 2 and drilling down into cities and towns. eCoast is facilitating the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Study of phase 2 in partnership with PLANIT Pacific (a Suva-based planning company), with a focus on environmental and socio-economic impacts on facilities for Nadi and Lautoka.
We are very excited to be a part of this project with the aim to minimise environmental waste and impacts, and provide the people of the Western Division with clean, safe waterways for decades to come.
Keep a look out for further updates!
